Ah, we are finally back to doing stuff that is fun and normal and all American.

Today we went to the local Pumpkin Patch! It was wonderful and very affordable. And like the Korea days of the blog- I've got TONS of pictures for you!

The pumpkin patch was so much more than a hay ride and a field. First up, feeding caged animals. I couldn't think of a better way to phrase that- I mean its not a petting zoo... but they aren't "pony rides" or anything like that... really, they are just well-fed, caged animals.

Oooh and they had this cool set of troughs to make little rubber ducks race. Hum... that isn't the best description either. Check out the picture below:

The kids had to use the ole'time water pumpers to generate enough water into the PVC pipe to propel a duck to the other end. It was pretty neat, all in all.
What next- Oh, Gourd Gun! They put the little 4" baby pumpkins into this black air pressured canon and the kids got to fire them at a target. Elisie-pie wanted to see how far she could shoot hers. Ry'noh needed a little help hitting the button and Pobbs tried to shoot his pumpkin further than Elisie-pie. ... so no one really *needed* the targets ...

Sorry, that above picture is just the back of Pobbs, but I wanted you to see the targets. Both older kids hit those trees in the background with that high pressure canon. Holy smokes. There was no prize for distance, but if you happened to actually get your pumpkin through the tiny target hole, you'd get a free funnel cake. Yeh, they had funnel cake AND kettle corn!
And, as you may know, in my {ahem} 29 years, I've never gone in a Corn Maze. I'm happy to report that today I can
totally cross that off my bucket list.

We started off into the maze and it was going well. Ah, child's play. Then we took a few wrong turns. Then um... we some how were back almost where we started. Then, we took a few more wrong turns. Then I found myself checking for the power lines over head (because they were to the west of the maze.) Um...

Then um... we turned and walked some more. Then I told the kids it might be Halloween before we actually found out way out. They were quick to reassure me that Halloween was a whole 7 days away and we'd certainly be out before then. When I joked about not making it out before dark, they started to get nervous. Eventually we had taken all logic out of our turns and steps and just keep walking and turning and turning and turning back and walking and.... drum roll please...

And of course, the big event for the day- PUMPKINS

What a wonderful day back in civilization! Love our new town!!!! Happy Fall, Y'all!!!
